Arvil C. Wooten, 79, a resident of Delano passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Arvil and Sybil Wooten had a total of nine children. He was a member of Southview Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Army. He was employed for 30 years as a welder for Combustion Engineering. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ealie Orgin Clements Wooten and James Franklin (Jim) Wooten of Polk County; two sisters: Leona Roden and Pearl Wooten and four brothers: Bob, Haggard, John and Earnest Wooten. Survivors include his wife, Sybil Wooten of Delano; children: Deborah and Steve Farmer and Kim and Steve Bennett all of Cleveland, Alan and Cindy Keel of IN, Connie and Rick Hicks of MD, Sybil Lynn and Randy Bates and Doug and Debbie Keel , Danny and Michelle Keel all of Delano, Andrea Brown of OH, William Keel, Jr. and Sandra of Cleveland; one brother, O.B. Wooten of Rossville; two sisters, Jessie Shipp, Francis and Alan Snyder all of Chattanooga; seventeen grandchildren: Beth, Brandi, Shane, Chris, Jimmy, Little Alan, Little Rick, Jeanette, Angel, Joe, April, Kari, Danny, Ashley, Paula, Jennifer and Ashley; twenty-three great grandchildren: Megan, Kaylee, Colby, Avery, Nathan, Danelle, Colin, Makayla, Nantalie, Gage, Cian, Jasman, Destiny, Kaytlin, Trinity, Lyllian, Cody, Dakota, Logan, Hope, Drew, Clari and Blake; and several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law: Dollie and Tom Blackburn, Patty Conway, Judy Callahan, Barbara and Doug Lockhart; brothers-in-law, Roy and Becky Cantrell and Michael and Vickie Cantrell. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 2, 2009 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastors Johnny Smith and Richard Snyder officiating. Interment will follow in Cumberland Shed Cemetery in Old Fort with Chris Bennett, Shane Cansler, John Wooten, Jim Wooten, Doug Keel and Danny Keel serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. His family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2009 at the funeral home.
