Ruby Allmon

Ruby Allmon, 90, a resident of Cleveland passed away Sunday, July 5, 2009 in a local healthcare facility. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Allmon was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Ruby's husband, Herman had been a race car driver and she enjoyed going with him to the races. A born' shopper and dear friend to all that knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Allmon; parents, Andrew and Nancy Burris Swafford; sisters, Rhonda June Eaves and Willie Bell Womac; brothers, R.G. Dorsey and Noah Swafford. She is survived by daughters, Sandy Choate of Cleveland and Johnnie Maroon and husband Frank of Cleveland; sons, Ronald Allmon and wife Linda of Cleveland and Donald Allmon and wife Diane of Georgetown; sister, Josephine Carlton of Rossville, GA; brothers, Andrew Swafford, Jr of Harrison and Cecil Swafford of Rossville, GA; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2009 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Reverend Charles McGowan officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pernell Maroon, Mark Maroon, Jody Allmon, Brian Allmon, Jarret Choate and Travis Allmon serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the services. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
