Bill Robinson

William (Bill) Robinson, 74, a resident of Cleveland since 1976, formerly of OH and CA, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2009 in a local hospital. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Known as an avid "fixer up" man, he was handy in doing all types of things; he enjoyed helping people and loved sports. He will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents, Will Robinson and Ella Sarah Goodman Robinson; three sisters: Elizabeth Sue Duggan, Clara Nell Armstrong and Edna Mae Roberts. Survivors include his wife, Violet Robinson of Cleveland; daughter, Lora Towers and husband, P.J. Davenport of Chatsworth, GA; son, Dean Robinson and wife, Angela of Cleveland; grandchildren: Ryan Cook, Nolen Cook, Stephen DeFriece, Sarah Robinson, Hayden Robinson and Rylie Towers and one great grandson, Keller Cook. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 6,2009 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverends Hank Davis, Robert Smith and John Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in the First Baptist Church Cemetery in Calhoun with John Duggan, Larry Duggan, Dave Duggan, Ray Duggan, Gary Armstrong and Randall Stom serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Hugh Robinson, Jim Duggan, Paul Crouch, Ron Ross, Arnold Taylor and Ralph Bryson. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the services. His family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
