Roy Martin Davis, 75, a resident of Cleveland passed away June 1, 2009 at the family residence. He was a member of Westwood Baptist Church. He owned and operated an auto body repair shop for 40 plus years. He enjoyed coin collecting and gardening. He served his country in the U.S. Navy in the National Defense, United Nations, Korean Service and China Service. He was preceded in death by his parents John Martin Davis and Mamie Beard Davis; brothers: Ralph Davis, Otis Davis and W. J. Davis; infant sister, Robbie Lee Davis; and father-in-law, Hubert McConnell. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn McConnell Davis of Cleveland; daughters, Julie Hoover and husband, Jimmy, Lauren England and husband, Montzell all of Cleveland; grandchildren: Madalyn (Mattie) Hoover, Grayson England and Brayla England all of Cleveland; sister, Margie Schrader; brothers, Alvin Davis and Tommy Davis all of Cleveland; mother-in-law, Wilma McConnell of Cleveland; sisters-in-law, Eleace Davis of Decatur and Barbara Davis of Cleveland; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ron and Phyllis Murphy of Georgetown and Eddie and Donna Harris of Harrison and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2009 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverend Jim Caywood officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors. Keith Davis, Yuri Davis, Ron Murphy, Eddie Harris, Jimmy Hoover and Bryan Liner will serve as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. His family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
