Eileen Grace Bandy, 77, a resident of Cleveland went home to be with her Lord Monday, March 2, 2009 with her family by her side. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Bandy served with the United States Navy where she was awarded the National Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. She was a member of the American Legion for 29 years. She loved being with her family. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, playing bingo, and she was always surrounded with laughter. The friends she made were friends for life. She had such a humble spirit and was gracious to everyone that knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Carm Shepard and Clara Wilbur Shepard; brothers, Walter Carm Shepard, Jr., Robert Edgar Shepard and David James Shepard. She is survived by her husband of 52 years William "Bill" Bandy of Cleveland; son, Doug Bandy and his wife Sheri of Murfreesboro; daughters, Dennise Griffith of Cleveland, Daphne Floyd and her husband Danny Floyd of Hixon, Donna Ellis and her husband Tim Ellis of Cleveland; grandchildren, Anna Lea [Matt] Malone, Allison Griffith, Beau [Lori] Lawson, Jason Bandy, Hannah Ellis and Bayleigh Ellis; sisters, Marianne [Shepard] Chipley of North East, PA., Cora Adeline [Shepard] Miller, Erie, PA., brothers, William Arthur Shepard, Glouster, Ma., Lawrence Thomas Shepard, Great Valley, NY., Ronald Clair Shepard, Erie, PA., and special friend, Joanna Buck. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2009 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Reverend Jay McCluskey officiating. Interment will follow in the Fort Hill Cemetery with nephews, Mark Bandy, Scott Bandy, Dennis Bandy, Donnie Bandy, Steve Bandy and Alan Bandy serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Phil Bandy, Terry Bandy, Jeff Bandy and Jason Bandy. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the services.
