James Edward Lively, Sr., age 82, a resident of Ocoee, Tn., went home to be with his heavenly father Monday April 13, 2009. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Benton. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and served in World War II and the Korean War. He and his wife owned and operated Lively's Restuarant in Benton for 27 years. He was preceded in death by his father William and mother Reba Simms. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret Maynor Lively of Ocoee; four children, James Edward Lively, Jr., and his wife Liz Lively of Lafayette, Ga., Lisa Price and her husband Fred Price, Cathy Rogers and her husband Billy Rogers all of Benton, Andrew Lively and his wife Wynetta Lively of Cleveland; three grandchildren, Tracy Broyles of Trion, Ga., April Rogers Edwards of Benton and Eddie Lively of Cleveland; two great grandchildren , Montana Broyles and J.D. Edwards, several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Benton with Pastor Don Whitehead and Pastor Carl Duckworth officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the services.
