Faye Chase Eldridge, 77, passed away peacefully Friday, April 3, 2009, after her battle with cancer. She was a lifetime resident of Cleveland and attended Westwood Baptist Church. She was a member of the 1951 graduating class of Bradley High School. She was retired from K-Mart where she worked many positions with the last one being a greeter. After retirement she was active at the Senior Centers of Cleveland and Athens. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harve and Myrtle Chase, her only son, Jimmy Eldridge, two brothers: Franklin and Tommy Chase, all of Cleveland. Survivors include two sisters: Mattie Lou Williams of Chattanooga, and Ollie Hall and husband Jack of Cleveland; three brothers: Joe Ben Chase, Tony Chase, both of Cleveland, and Bobby Chase and wife Carolyn of Cohutta, GA; three granddaughters: Kassie Varnell and husband Kyle, and Kalley and Katelyn Eldridge, one great-grandson, Elijah Varnell, and daughter-in-law, Roberta Eldridge, all of Cleveland. Faye was also loved by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 5, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with her nephew the Reverend Steven Sparks of Michigan officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens concluding with a white dove release. Her family will receive friends from 5 - 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
