John Callahan, 86, a lifelong resident of Bradley County passed away Saturday March 14, 2009 in a Chattanooga hospital. Mr. Callahan was of the Church of God faith. He was an auto mechanic with C.C. Card Auto for 30 years. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Chassie Faulkner and Emma McCalister and one brother, Elmer Callahan. He is survived by three sons, David Callahan and wife Pricilla, Jeff Callahan and wife Deedra and Dannie Callahan all of Charleston; three daughters, Ann Matthews, Janet Evans and husband Eddie Evans all of Charleston, Faye Watson and husband Ralph Watson of Gatlinburg, TN.; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday March 16, 2009 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Reverend Ray Wynn officiating. Interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday March 17, 2009 in the Union Grove Church of God Cemetery with David Callahan, Blake Callahan, Dannie Callahan, Tanner Withrow, Eddie Evans and Mike Maupin serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the services. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Monday prior to the service.
