Frances Sylvia Ward

Frances Sylvia (Bridges) Ward, 79, a resident of McDonald, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2007 in a Collegedale healthcare facility. She was a member of the Pine Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church since childhood.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hobert Ward; father and mother, A.B. Bridges, SR. and Mildred Bridges; brothers: William Vaughn Bridges, Junior Bridges and Bobby Bridges.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra Ward Smith and husband David Smith of McDonald, TN; three grandsons: Travis Smith of Knoxville, TN and Chris and Andy Smith both of McDonald, TN; one sister, Osie Sliger and husband James F. Sliger of McDonald, TN; two sisters-in-law: Edith Ward Douglas and Willie Dean Ward Riddle both of Dalton, GA; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2007 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Russ Maroon of Pine Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church conducting the funeral. Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Burton, Gary Beavers, Glenn Miller, Dale Miller, Benny Bridges and Daryl Sliger. A private interment will be conducted in the Pine Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at the funeral home prior to the service.
