James Edward (Jim) Wallace, Sr.

James Edward (Jim) Wallace, Sr., 79, passed away March 17, 2008 at his home. He was born September 21, 1928 in McMinn County. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was a member of Cleveland Masonic Lodge 134 F&AM for over fifty years. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict. He was retired from Magic Chef and the Cleveland Police Department.

He was the son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Lizzie Rowland Wallace. He was preceded in death by one sister Catherine Cavitt and five brothers, Creed, Richard, Lloyd, Cldye, Hobert and Robert Wallace.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Brown Wallace, one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Marsha Wallace of Cleveland, one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Ann and Robert Smith Jr. of Franklin, TN., three grandchildren, Lindsey Hester and husband Charles of Murfreesboro, TN., Trey Smith of Columbia, TN., and Abby Wallace of Orlando, FL., one brother Claude Wallace and wife Louise of Cleveland and one sister Mary Elizabeth Corbin and husband Thomas of Charleston, TN., one sister-in-law, Betty Barnes of Athens and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday March 20, 2008 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverend Bob Pruett officiating. Interment will follow in the Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with military honors. Larry Davis, Carlon Davis, Bobby Wallace, Chuck Brown, Bill Brown and Jim Brown will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. There will be a Masonic Service at 8p.m. following visitation.
