Geneva Farner Underdown wife of the late Lou (L.T.) Underdown passed away November 2, 2007 in Cleveland, Tennessee.
Geneva was born January 14, 1925 in Polk County, TN and moved to McMinn County around ten years of age where she was educated and met her husband of fifty years. She lives her life being a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother always placing others' needs before her own. She will be sorely missed by her family and many friends
Preceding Geneva in death were her parents Mae and Ike Farner and two younger brothers, Harold Dean and Kenneth all of Athens.
Geneva is survived by her immediate family members which include a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Wayne Williams of Knoxville, TN; a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Carol Underdown of Cleveland; grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, Clay and Stacy Underdown of Benton and John and Wendy Fletcher Williams of Asheville, North Carolina; and the love of her life, great-grandson, Cole Madison Underdown. Geneva is also survived by sisters, Loucille McAlister of Cleveland, Rusty DiPierro of Lancaster, Ohio, Elizabeth Dixon of Athens and Nancy Wilcox of Chattanooga; brothers, Clarence "Bud" Farner and Franklin Farner both of Athens and Glenn Farner of Benton. She is also survived by her sisters-of-the-heart, Catherine Underdown of Athens and Mamie Sartin of Cleveland as well as numerous nieces and nephews across the country.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Reverend Barry Kidwell officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens.
Her family will receive friends from 3-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
