Steve A. Thompson, age 48, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday April 21, 2007 due to injuries in an automobile accident. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Thompson was a lifelong carpenter. He was preceded in death by his parents Donald Eugene Thompson and Vidalee Lathen; grandchildren: Briar and Brayden Powell; brother, Dennis Thompson; sister, Linda Ramsey and niece, Jenifer Swallows
He is survived by his loving companion, Becky Battles; daughter and son-in-law, Kristy and Chris Powell; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Jack Swallows and special sister-in-law, Elaine Thompson; brothers: Robert Thompson, Billy Thompson and Eddie Thompson all of Cleveland; brother-in-law, Bill Ramsey of Harrison and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Reverend Paul Fox officiating. Interment will follow at Lee Cemetery in McDonald with Jeff Swallows, Jason Mashburn, Sam Broglin, David Broglin, Jamie Hixson and Mark Ratcliff serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
His family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
