Warren L. "Tarp" Tarpley, 79, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, February 6, 2008 in a Chattanooga healthcare facility.
He was of the Church of God faith. Mr. Tarpley was previously foreman of the auto body repair department at Hall Chevrolet for 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold Norman Tarpley and Edith Curtis Tarpley.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jeannine Tarpley of Cleveland; son, Arnold L. Tarpley and wife, Renee of Cleveland; 3 sisters, Hazel Marie Beshears and Marlene Hall and husband, Claude all of Cleveland and Inez Jones of Plant City, FL; 2 brothers, David Tarpley and wife, Pat and Kenneth Tarpley and wife, Barbara all of Cleveland and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverend Jack Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with David Tarpley II, Ken Tarpley, Chuck Beshears, Marvin Jones, Jonathan Jones and Kris Jones serving as pallbearers.
His family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday prior to the service.
