M. Leona Smith, 65, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, July 25, 2008 at the family residence. She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Neva Sullens and brother, Jewette Sullens.
She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Hugh (Don) Smith; 4 children: Rhonda Teague and husband, Robert, Rita Gowan all of Cleveland, TN, Ronnie Fuller and wife, Deanna of Cleveland, GA and Rodney Heaton of Gainesville, GA; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 4 siblings: Dean Sullens, Thelmon Sullens, Ruby Armour and Gladys Dover all of Gainesville, GA and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 P.M. Sunday in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverends Ray Higgins and Ronnie Fuller officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery on Old Chattanooga Pike with Michael Allen, Johnathon Fuller, Christopher Fuller, Shannon Phagan, Brannon Gowan, Shane Armstrong and Rodney Heaton serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
Her family will receive friends from 4 to 8 P.M. Saturday and from 2 to 4 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
