Jack M. Sliger, 79, of Cleveland, beloved husband passed on to glory Tuesday, June 3, 2008 following a lengthy illness. He was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church. He retired from Catnapper after 26 years. Mr. Sliger was a veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Airforce.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Sigler and Florence Starnes Sligler; siblings: Moat Sliger, Thyra Cook and Peggy Johnson.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jan Sliger of Cleveland; stepchildren: Sandy Sheafer and husband, Rocky of Charleston and Clay Price of Chattanooga; 3 grandchildren: Erica Price, Lucas Sheafer and Maria Sheafer; 4 brothers: Robert Sliger of Dalton, GA, James Frank Sliger, Hubert Sliger and Charles Gene Sliger all of McDonald; sisters: Mary Elizabeth Wilson of McDonald, Barbara A. Howard and Rose Ellen Housley both of Cleveland.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverend Luther Eslinger officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with his nephews serving as pallbearers.
His family will receive friends from 5 to 8 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
