Dema Allie Dodd Shoemaker, 97, born July 12, 1910 went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 5, 2008 at her home.
She was a member of Blue Springs Baptist Church. She moved to Cleveland in the early 1930's with her husband "Dip". The built their home on Tunnel Hill Road, where she lived until her death.
She was a very loving and giving person. She loved God, her family and friends.
The things she was especially proud of besides her family was her flower garden. She was retired from Hardwick Clothes and Lou-Mar Manufacturing Co. She will be missed by her family, neighbors and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; William and Callie Reepe Dodd, husband, Vernon "Dip" Shoemaker, sisters; Edith Norris and Edna Caylor, brothers; Robert, J.C., Bud and R.B. Dodd.
She is survived by sons; Bobby Shoemaker, Ronny Shoemaker and his wife Sue. She had four grandchildren whom she loved dearly, granddaughters; Jennifer Miller and husband Tod of Smyrna, TN., Tammy Evans and husband David of Cleveland, grandsons; Jeff Shoemaker and David Shoemaker and his wife Nikki of Cleveland, great grandsons; Cole Matthew Shoemaker, Layne Mikle Shoemaker, Bobby Dean Goins and Nicholas Goins all of Cleveland, great-great grandson, Jaxson Goins, sister; Barbara Burns of Cleveland and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 7, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverend Duane Hamby officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with David Shoemaker, Tod Miller, David Evans, Johnny Cheek , Robert Cheek and Chad Eslinger serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the services.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 P.M. Sunday, January 6, 2008 at the funeral home.
