Clarice Mildred Samples, 93, passed away September 7, 2007 in Peachtree City, GA. She was born September 28, 1913 in Birchwood, TN and was a former resident of Cleveland. She became a member of the Birchwood Baptist Church at a very early and later a member of First Baptist Church of Cleveland. She was active in the Quilters Guild and the Library Club for over 50 years. She was employed by American Uniform Company for 26 years and was an excellent seamstress making samples for the salesmen of the company.
Clarice was the youngest of 8 children born to the late James Matthew Sample and Una Vesta Russell Samples.
She is survived by her nieces, Irene Kennett of Chattanooga, Judy Buffington and husband, Ben of Cleveland, Wanda Williams and husband, Glenn of Chattanooga; nephews: Bill McKinney and Keith McKinney both of Birchwood and Jimmy McKinney and wife, Judy of Hixson and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 10, 2007 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Tom Moncrief officiating. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
Her family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
