Llewellyn Gay Rabenau, born December 28, 1920 in Garfield, GA, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2009 at a Cleveland, TN assisted living facility, with her family at her side. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Frank Russell Rabenau.
Frank and Llewellyn lived at Wakkulla Station, FL for 46 years prior to moving to Cleveland in 2004, and were active in the Eastern Star and Masons there, independently heading the local organizations at times. They were active members of the First Baptist Church at St. Marks, FL.
"Lew" was the youngest of the twelve children of Ozzie and Laura Gay, and the last survivor. She is survived by her two children, Charmaine Rabenau Hayes and Calvin of Cleveland, TN, and Frank Richard Rabenau and Nancy of Wheeling, IL; grandchildren: Shanda Hayes Wingfield and Brett of Mitchell, SD and Kristi Hayes Free and Richard of Knoxville, TN; grandson, Braden Wingfield of Mitchell, SD. "Lew" was a homemaker most of her life, known for her attention to detail and she leaves behind a priceless legacy of love and support invested in her family and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 16, 2009 in Tallahassee, FL at Culley's Meadowwood Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 700 Timberlane RD, Tallahassee-(850) 893-4177.
Her family will receive friends from 4:00 to 5:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Fike Funeral Home in Cleveland, TN.
