Frank R. Rabenau, age 91, a resident of Cleveland for the past two years, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2006 in a local retirement home. A native of St. Louis, MO, he had made Newport, FL and later Wakulla Station, FL his home for fifty years. He was a member of the Saint Marks First Baptist Church. Mr. Rabenau was a World War II veteran serving in the Army Air Corps with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was a past Worshipful Master of the Crawfordville Masonic Lodge. Building shrimp boats first brought him to Newport and then he worked for St. Joe Paper Company, before retiring from the Sam O. Purdom Power Plant in Saint Marks, FL in 1982 as a maintenance supervisor. He is preceded in death by his parents, August Rabenau and Amelia Nuesbaumer Rabenau.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Llewellyn Rabenau; daughter, Charmaine Hayes and husband, Calvin Hayes of Cleveland, TN; son, Frank Rabenau and wife Nancy Rabenau of Wheeling, IL; sister, Emma Wehking of Branson, MO; two granddaughters, Shanda Wingfield and husband Brett Wingfield of Mitchell, SD and Kristi Free and husband, Richard Free of Knoxville, TN; and one great grandchild, Braden Wingfield.
Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at Meadowwood Memorial Park, 700 Timberlane Rd, Tallahassee, FL with Reverend Fred Harrison officiating.
