James Alton Quine, age 81, a resident of Cleveland, passed away, Monday, February 05, 2007 at a local hospital. He was a member of Charleston United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Hiwassee Masonic Lodge 188. He enjoyed many years of retirement after a long career at Bowater Paper Mill. He was active in the Twelve Step Program for over 30 years and helped many people in their recovery. He was born in Lufkin, TX to the late Hilton and Virginia Mattie Monley Quine. He was also preceded in death by his wives, Irene Rhodes Quine and Paula Anderson Quine; son, Ricky Quine and grandson, J.J. Marshall.
He is survived by his wife, Jerry Mizell Quine of Charleston; daughters and sons-in-law: Charlene Cofer and husband, Bryan Cofer, Melanie Marshall and husband, Jay Marshall, Dianne Webb and husband, Ken Webb all of Cleveland, Becky Gregory and husband, Greg Gregory of Nashville, Pat Ownby and husband, Ashley Ownby, Kim Lawson and husband, Johnny Lawson all of Cleveland, Kaye Miles of Knoxville; daughter-in-law, Karen Rhoden of Douglasville, GA; sons: Jerry Mizell and wife, Debbie Mizell, Doug Mizell and wife, Sue Mizell, Jimmy Mizell and wife, Allison Mizell, Johnny Mizell and wife, Lynn Mizell all of Cleveland, Ricky Anderson and wife, Audrey Anderson of Toronto, Canada; 33 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; sister, Ina Ruth Flowers and husband, James Flowers of Lufkin, TX; brother, Hilton Quine and wife, Reba Quine of Dallas, TX and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Reverend Bruce Henley officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
