Floyd DeWayne Phillips, 62, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, October 12, 2007 in a local hospital. He was of the Pentecostal faith. A former member of the Tennessee National Guard, he was involved during the time of the Memphis uprising. He was a well known master plumber for many years.
He was preceded in death by his father Ernest J. Phillips Jr.
Wayne is survived by his mother, Jean Phillips, one son, Ronnie P. Phillips, sisters; Tina Baker and Brenda "Sissy" Willis, all of Cleveland, grandchildren; Holly, Bonnie and Prestin.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 14, 2007 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverend Herbert Conley and Reverend Steve Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow in the Hilcrest Memorial Gardens. Joe Baker, John Willis II, Roger Pritchett, Miles Pritchett, Ronald Harden, Tanner Riley will be serving as pallbearers. Paul Baker, Johnny Willis, Jimmy Moorehead will be serving as honorary pallbearers.
