David Wayne Pelfrey, 62, passed away September 1, 2007 in an Auburn, Washington hospital. Mr. Pelfrey had been a resident of Cleveland for the last 15 years.
He was employed as service manager for Pye Acura auto dealership in Chattanooga for 15 years. He attended Eastside Church of Christ. He enjoyed boating and hunting and was an avid race car fan that enjoyed restoring old cars; he was also a member of the Elks Club and the VFW. He cherished and loved his grandchildren dearly.
He was preceded in death by parents, Robert C. Pelfrey and Pearl Mae Poland Pelfrey.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Barbara Elder Pelfrey, one daughter Debora Haney and husband George O. Haney of Cleveland one son, Danny Ishom of Rockwood, sisters; Shirley Dickson, Barbara Moore and Wanda Allen all of Rockwood, brothers; Dean Pelfrey of Kingston, Gary Pelfrey of Cleveland, Jackie Pelfrey of Rockwood, and Rolland Pelfrey of Ooltewah, grandchildren; Hunter, Drake and Chase Ann Haney of Cleveland and Jessie Ishom of Rockwood, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 7, 2007, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Minister Jeff Archey, Minister Wayne Miller and Minister Tom Harrison officiating. Pallbearers will be George O. Haney, Hunter Haney, Drake Haney, Dean Pelfrey, Jerry Elder, Gary Pelfrey, Jackie Pelfrey and Rolland Pelfrey. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors; a white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
His family will receive friends after 5:00 p.m. Thursday, September 6, 2007 at the funeral home.
