Kay F. Oxford, 68, a lifelong resident of Bradley County passed away Friday, July 11, 2008 at the family residence. She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church.
Kay was area manager for the Dept. of Human Services for more than 35 years. She loved to travel and was an avid antique collector. Kay enjoyed sharing time with her nieces and nephews.
Miss Oxford was preceded in death by her parents, J.J. Oxford and Mary Edith Dooley Oxford.
She is survived by her brother, Jenson Oxford, III of Cleveland; sister-in-law, JoAnn Oxford of Cleveland; nieces and nephews, Tony and Renita Jenkins, Scott and Maredith Rymer of Cleveland, Mike and Tina Jenkins of Riceville, Gary Jenkins of LaFayette, Ga. and Janet Crye of LaFayette, Ga., several great nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday July 16, 2008 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Rev. Herb Conley and Rev. Scott Rymer officiating. Reverend Harvey Booher will be recognized as honorary officiate. Interment will follow in the Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Jack Orr, Mitch Harris, Mike Fitzgerald, Allen Goldston, Randell Davis and Mike Jenkins serving as pallbearers. Danny Orr will be serving as honorary pallbearer. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the services.
The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
