Mona (Ma Maw) Miller Neal, a resident of Cleveland was called home from her loving family here on earth on Monday, December 22, 2008 to eternally be with her heavenly father and loving family waiting for her in heaven. She was a wonderful loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend to those who knew her. She will be sadly missed and happily remembered by all who loved her.
Mona was a member of First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Elnora Fitzsimmons; her husband of 52 years, Reverend Clarence Miller and her husband of 9 years, Ernest Neal; sisters: Myrtle Mantooth, Edith Fox, Sally Brookes and brother, Bill Conner.
Survivors include her daughter, Joyce York and husband, Madison; her son, Billy Miller and wife, Kaye; her stepson, Robert Neal of Winston, NC and stepdaughter Elizabeth Neal Ricket of Marshalltown, IA; grandchildren: Jeff York and wife Tammy, Annette Tweed and husband Dennis, Melanie Hollis and husband Chappy, Shawn Miller and wife Kay; great-grandchildren: Hunter, Houston and Haden York, Alex and Alayna Tweed, Caleb, Lydia, Natalie Hope and Charley Hollis, Gavin and Cody Miller; sisters: Winnie Mills, Lilly Samples and Pearl Frazier; brother, Hoyt Fitzsimmons; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 24, 2008 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Reverend Tom Moncrief and Reverend Bill Griffith officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Jeff Hunter, Houston York, Haden York, Shawn Miller, Chappy Hollis, Calab Hollis and Dennis Tweed serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
Her family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
