Betty J. Bunch Murphy, 75, a resident of Cleveland, went home to be with the Lord Monday morning, December 15, 2008 at her residence. She was a lifelong resident of Bradley County and a 27 year member of Temple Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam Bunch Sr. and Emma Gibson Bunch; son, Billy Hardy; daughter, Peggy Davis; grandson, Jeff Davis and great great granddaughter, Amber Jenkins Hyberger; brothers: James W. Bunch, John T. Bunch and Sam Bunch, Jr.; sisters: Gerti Farris and Marjorie Bunch.
Survivors include her loving husband of 40 years, Floyd D. Murphy of Cleveland; daughter, Brenda Mitchell of Chickamauga, GA; five grandchildren: Brian Huffaker, Denisa Capps, Jason and Brenda Davis, Andy Hardy and Kristin Barham; one great grandchild, Jayden Davis; one great great grandchild: Emily Brayden Hyberger; sisters: Ressie Farris and Icye Rominger and husband, Ralph; and brother, Jerry Bobby Bunch all of Cleveland;, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday December 18, 2008 at Temple Baptist Church with the Reverend Paul Fox officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery with Raymond Swafford, Tim Jenkins, Andy Hardy, Randy Thompson, Wayne Chastain and James Marler serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
Her family will receive friends from 5 to 9 P.M. Wednesday at Fike Funeral Home.
