Dewey Wayne Miller

March 19, 1949 — January 26, 2008

Wayne Miller, 58, a longtime resident of Bradley County passed away Saturday January 26, 2008 in a Chattanooga hospital. He was employed as General Manager of Cherokee Springs Golf Course.

Mr. Miller was raised in the Church of God where his father pastored. He was a member of North Cleveland Baptist Church and was an active participant of His Hands Extended Ministry. Mr. Miller was past president of the Cleveland Motorcycle Club and he enjoyed golf and motorcycling.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Dewey Miller and Cleo West Miller.

Mr. Miller is survived by his wife; Jo Organ Miller of Cleveland, daughter; Emily Organ Gordon and husband Dale Gordon of Cleveland, grandchildren; Hailee, Cody and Chase Gordon of Cleveland, sisters; Rachel Yarbrough and husband Tony, Becky Lively and husband Andy and Carol Kersey, brothers; Frank Miller and wife Margaret, Johnnie Miller and wife Claudia, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday January 29, 2008 at the North Cleveland Baptist Church with the Reverend Jay McCluskey, Reverend Max Morris and Minister Kay Horner officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with Jim Goins, Buddy Hicks, Bill Bates, Butch Barnes, Kent Berry, Jim Duggan, Jim Tatum and Barry Maples serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Morgan, Steve Orders, Perry Horner, O. Wayne Chambers, Hugh Carver, Stanley Millsaps and His Hands Extended Prayer Warriors.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday January 28, 2008 at Fike Funeral Home and from 1-2 p.m. on Tuesday at the church prior to the service.
