John Edward McFarland, passed away on July 25, 2008 at his home in Cleveland, TN. He was born on September 8, 1922 and was a resident of Paris, TN. most of his life. He was a member of Maplewood Baptist Church.
Mr. McFarland loved cars and worked for Covington Motor Company. He retired from Emerson Electric after many years. After retirement he returned to his lifelong enjoyment working for Karonel's Kar's. Mr. McFarland served in the United States Navy during WW II on the U.S.S. Intrepid.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Letha McFarland and one sister Thelma Stamps.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Martha McFarland of Cleveland; son, James McFarland and wife Judie of Paris, TN.; daughter Carol Marr and husband David of Cleveland; three grandchildren, Jeff and Clint McFarland of Paris and Joshua Taylor of Nashville; two great grandchildren Keaton and Sydney McFarland and a very special nephew Eual Gene Stamps of Paris, TN.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 28, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Jack Criswell officiating. Jeff McFarland, Clint McFarland, Joshua Taylor, Eual Gene Stamps, Randy Stamps and David Marr will be serving as pallbearers.
Funeral arrangements are through Ridgeway Funeral Home in Paris, TN. and the family will receive friends on Sunday July 27, from 3-5 p.m.
