Lorene Lightfoot

Lorene Lightfoot, 86, a resident of Cleveland and formerly of Birchwood, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at the family residence. She was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church in Birchwood and a member of the Joy Givers Sunday School Class at Westwood Baptist Church in Cleveland.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Bryan "Bud" Hixson and Mae Marie Hensley Hixson; husband, H.D. "Peaches" Lightfoot; granddaughter, Cathy Bloomfield; sister, Marva Boynton and brother, Alvin Hixson.
She is survived by her children: Gail Bloomfield and husband, Jon of Leesburg, AL, Janice Blake of McDonough, GA, Jeanie Stearns and husband, Larry of Harrison and Debby Lightfoot of Decatur, GA; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother, Founty Hixson and wife, Bonnie of Henagar, AL; sister-in-law, Emma Jean Hixson of Georgetown; niece, Karen Boyd; nephews Benny Hixson, Dale Hixson and Tony Hixson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 19, 2008 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Revs. Timothy Marrs, Ernest Sutton and Johnny Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
Her family will receive friends from 5 to 8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
