Bonnie Ruth Lewis, 61, a lifelong resident of Cleveland passed away Sunday June 8, 2008 at the family residence. She was a member of Berean Baptist Church.
Mrs. Lewis was especially devoted to her grandchildren. Her hobby was quilting and she enjoyed making quilts for her grandchildren. She was employed as a textile worker with Shaw Industries for 27 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Stinnett and Ona Bigham Stinnett and one brother, George Stinnett.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Carl Lewis of Cleveland; sons, Steven Lewis of Orient, Ohio and Mark Lewis (Casey) of Cleveland; daughter, Sheila Gatlin (Ricky) of Cleveland; grandchildren, Lora Gatlin, Labrian Gatlin, Kelsie Lewis and Maddie Lewis; sisters, Betty Jo Lewis (Ernest) and Emma Sue Bacon of Cleveland; sisters-in-law, Lobetha Stinnett Cross of Cleveland and Frances Ensley (Jim) of Cohutta, Ga.; brother-in-law, William Clyde Lewis, Jr. of Cohutta, Ga.; mother-in-law, Ethel Lewis of Cohutta, Ga.; aunt, Edna Geren of Cleveland and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday June 11, 2008 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with nephews serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the services.
The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
