Dolores D. King, 78, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2007.
She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church and the Phoebe Sunday School Class.
Mrs. King was a Golden Graduate of the University of Tennessee and a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. She was someone that loved dogs and bred and raised Maltese.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis King; parents, Thomas Avery Davis and Flora Alleen Duckworth Davis.
She is survived by her sister Patti Blackett and husband, Richard Choura of Knoxville; step-sister, Vaudine McKinney and husband, Fred of Athens; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy Cooke and Ann of Cleveland; aunt, Martha Stiles of Knoxville; a very special niece-in-law, Mary Lou George and husband, Bob and nephew, Jimmy Cooke, Jr. and wife Pam all of Cleveland; nieces and nephews: Brent Blackett of Galveston, TX, Dr. Gavin Blackett and Dr. Cathy Blackett of St. Petersburg, FL, Laurel B. Miranda and Steve Miranda of Burlingame, CA.
Graveside services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, September 2, 2007, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pastor Jim Caywood officiating. Pallbearers will be Gavin Blackett, Richard Choura, Leland Duckworth, Bob George, and Jimmy Cooke, Jr. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 and Fike Funeral Home on Sunday prior to the graveside service.
