Ruby Belle Jones passed away in her sleep on Monday evening, March 10, 2008. She was 86.
"Belle" was born in Red Clay and lived in McDonald for nearly seventy years. Retired from Charleston Hosiery Mill, she was a member of Pine Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church and will be fondly remembered as a wonderful grandmother and treasured friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Annie (Eslinger) and Frank Maroon of Cleveland, TN; devoted husband, Robert Marvin "Red" Jones; sister Mildred Delashmitt and brother Louis Maroon, both of Cleveland.
She is survived by her son, Marvin "Ray" Jones with whom she resided; brother Ernest Maroon of Cleveland; granddaughters Tiffany Jones (Jim) Gibby of Chattanooga, Lanie Ray Novene of McDonald, and Megan Lee (Kenneth) Rymer, also of McDonald; four great-grandchildren, Sophia Belle and Jack Gibby, and Laisia and Lee Novene; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Fike Funeral Home in Cleveland on Wednesday, March 12, from 5-8 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 13, at 12:00 noon at the Pine Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery, with Pastor Russ Maroon officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jim Gibby and Ken Rymer, nephews: Jerry Maroon and Kendall Maroon, and neighbors Mike Murphey and Butch Murphey.
