Ken "Windy" Johnston, 46, a resident of Cleveland, went home to be with the Lord suddenly Friday, May 02, 2008 in a Chattanooga hospital. He was a graduate of Bradley Central High School Class of 1980. He was an Auxiliary Police officer and was very active in the Bradley County Fire and Rescue Squad for the past 25 years. He volunteered his time to the police, fire and rescue department and was also a certified EMT. He was employed with Jackson Manufacturing.
Mr. Johnston was preceded in death by his brother, Steve Johnston and a niece, Adrienne Johnston.
Survivors include his parents: Kenneth and Imogene Johnston of Cleveland; step daughter, Amanda Austin; special friend, Jennifer Reagan; two sisters and spouses: Patty Johnston Bennett and Keith Bennett of Birmingham, Alabama and Debbie Johnston Bunch and Terrell Bunch of Cleveland; sister-in-law, Teresa Johnston Moses of Chattanooga; nieces and nephews: Blair Bennett, James Bennett, Laura Bennett all of Birmingham, Alabama, Matthew Johnston of Chattanooga and Mandie Bunch of Cleveland.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2008 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Caywood and Pastor Bud Pierce officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 12 noon Monday, May 5, 2008 at the Fort Hill Cemetery with the Bradley County Rescue Squad serving as pallbearers.
His family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2008 at the funeral home prior to the service.
