Marie C. Humphrey

Marie C, Humphrey, age 81, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, July 21, 2006 in a local hospital. She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church where she was active in the Senior Adult Sunday School. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, a world traveler and an avid bowler. Mrs. Humphrey was employed by Cleveland State Community College for 10 years as librarian clerk.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Conner and Rosie Blaylock Conner and her husband, Lester (C. H.) Humphrey.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Donald L. Humphrey and wife, Charlotte of Mooresville, N.C. and Larry C. Humphrey and wife, Marquetta of Cleveland; grandchildren: Scott Humphrey of Dallas, TX, Clint Humphrey of Cleveland, Crystal Humphrey of Charlotte, NC and Christina Humphrey of Chattanooga; one surviving sister, Miriam Bamberg of Orlando, FL.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Ingram and Pastor Bert Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Scott Humphrey, Clint Humphrey, Brent Forshee, Dennis Anderson, Craig Phillips and Paul Smith serving as pallbearers. The service will conclude with the white dove release ceremony.
