Gladys E. Huff, 96, a longtime resident of the Benton Station area passed away Monday February 25, 2008 in a local hospital.
She was one of the oldest members of the Benton Station Baptist Church. One of Mrs. Huff's favorite pastimes was reading she also enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening and canning. She was a very loving mother and one of the best cooks' in the south.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Franklin Green and Lou Ella Witzel Green; husband, Fred B. Huff; sisters, Nora Pullen and Eula Harper; brothers, Hoyt Green, Bert Green, Hershel Green and Lester Green.
She is survived by two daughters, Janna Beavers and husband Danny of Cleveland, Connie Bolden and husband David of Benton; one son, Charles F. Huff and wife Trudy of Crandall, Ga.; grandchildren, Michele Goforth, Dana Beavers, Jason Liner, Christina Wilson, Lisa Clowers and Shawn Huff; great grandchildren, Kaylen Mickel, Taylor Mickel, Gavin Liner, Zoey Wilson, Amanda Clowers and Sarah Clowers.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday February 27, 2008 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverend Joel Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Jason Liner, Shawn Huff, Preston Goforth, Dustin Wilson, James Henderson and Christopher Wilson serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the services.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
