Lillian Ruthelle Helton

Ruthelle Epperson Helton, 89, a lifelong resident of Charleston went home to be with her heavenly Father on Sunday March 25, 3007. She passed away in a local hospital. She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Mary Katherine Epperson and was preceded in death by her husband Clifford Nathaniel Helton; three brothers: Dr. Roy Epperson of Athens, Joe Epperson of Berea, OH, and Hoyle Epperson of Miami, FL. She was a member of the Charleston Cumberland Presbyterian Church for 89 years.

She is survived by two daughters: Luena Stewart Russell of Winchester and Bennie Lorene Barham of Calhoun; three grandchildren: Rodney Stewart of Tullahoma, Julie Hodgins and Susan Hardy of Calhoun; six great grandchildren: Samuel Stewart, Kristin Barham, Derek Barham, Andy Hardy, Timmy Hodgins and Tyler Hodgins and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Bond officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Derek Barham, Andy Hardy, Timmy Hodgins, Tyler Hodgins and Michael McCormack serving as pallbearers.

Her family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
