Jessie R. Hancock

Jessie R. "Jackie" Hancock, age 72, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at a local hospital. She was a member of the Baptist church. Mrs. Hancock was preceded in death by her parents, Luther R. Jackson and Lola Gilstrap Jackson; sisters: Eileen Jackson, Beatrice Keasler, Frances Kile, Grace Presswood Violet Price and Gladys Hargraves; brothers: Alvin Jackson, Bill Jackson and L. R. Jackson.


She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-six years, Billy "Bill" Hancock of Cleveland; son, Billy Derek Hancock and wife, Connie of Huntsville, AL; daughter, Rhonda Nichols and husband Dean of Meridianville, AL; sister, Geneva Witt, of Tunnel Hill, GA; grandchildren: Billy Derek Hancock, Jr., Kristy Hancock, Christopher Hancock, Lauren Ashley Hancock, Rebekah Nichols, Tyler Sharp and Derrick Blackwell and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Richard McKeehan officiating. Interment will follow in Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery with Danny Melton, Danny Melton, Jr., Donnie Hancock, Billy Farmer, Bryan Smith and William Smith serving as pallbearers. The release of a flock of white doves will conclude the ceremony.
