Timothy Ray Green, age 50, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, November 3, 2006 in a Chattanooga hospital. He attended Taylor Elementary School and was a 1974 graduate of Bradley Central High School. He received his Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering at Cleveland State Community College and a B.S. and Masters Degree from Southwestern University in Tucson, Arizona. He was an ordained minister by the Universal Life Church in Modesto, California. He was an avid outdoorsman in sports and the military. He was a licensed private pilot.
He served in United States Air Force for four years. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 81. He was a member of the VFW and was also a former member of the Tennessee National Guard where he was a Second Lieutenant.
Through his death eight people were given life through the organ donation program of Tennessee.
He is survived by his parents: Jack and Rebecca Howard Green of Cleveland; two children: Andrea Michelle Armstrong of Nashville, TN and Timothy Ray Green, Jr. of Shelbyville, TN; two grandchildren: Hope Armstrong and John Green; one brother, Jack Lamar Green of Benton; two sisters: Shirley Ann Green Brackett of Cleveland and Regina Ruth Green Raines of Benton; several nieces and nephews who he loved very much also survive
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Reverend Carl Duckworth officiating. Interment will follow in the Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors and a white dove release. His life long friends, Steve Melton, Carl Allen Gatlin, Albert Hamilton, Phil Brackett, Jr., Ryan Raines and Roy Raines, Jr. will serve as pallbearers.
His family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
