Mable A. Everett, 86, of Georgetown or "Mom" as she was best known, died Sunday, October 12 in a Chattanooga Hospital with her family by her side.
She was a beloved mother, grandmother, friend and believer. She was a lifelong member of Brittsville Baptist Church and worked at American Uniform for 43 years and only missed one day of work.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Everett of Georgetown; sister, Leola Collins of Decatur; son-in-law, Bill Collins of Cleveland; son-in-law, Don Ward; step-mother Mattie Hickman of Georgetown; mother, Ida Schfiltt Hickman and father Lee Hickman of Georgetown; and a very special Aunt Hattie Schfiltt Hickman of Georgetown who was like a mother to her.
Survivors include her two loving daughters, Nancy Ward and Jerri Collins both of Cleveland; a very special brother-in-law, James Gilbert Collins (Gib) who has been her best friend; three grandchildren, Mitch Collins and wife Leisha; Shane Collins; Donna Ward Cochrane and husband Jonathon all of Cleveland; two great-grandchildren, Brittany Collins and Miles Collins both of Cleveland.
Funeral Services will be held at 8 p.m., Wednesday, October 15, 2008 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Reverend Johnny Jones and Reverend Ken Predie officiating. Interment will be held at 11 a.m., October 16 at Johnston Cemetery with a white dove release concluding the ceremony. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:15 a.m.
Pallbearers include Mitch Collins, Shane Collins, Miles Collins, Mike Ward, Bug Collins, Wayne Ware, Walter Hickman and Jonathan Cochrane. Honorary pallbearers are all the men from Brittsville Baptist Church whom she dearly loved.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
