Lillis Evelyn Evans, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2007 in a local healthcare facility. She was a charter member of Unity United Methodist Church and later became a member of Broad Street United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest H. Evans, her parents: Earl Pruett and Julia Anderson, and also a grandson, Joby Vest.
She is survived by three daughters: Jerry Odom of Cleveland, Frances Vest of Cleveland, and Sandy Pullin of Knoxville; seven grandchildren: Dennis Odom of Cleveland, Teresa Swilling and husband Ronnie of Crandall, GA, Sharon Marr and husband David of Cleveland, Randy Odom and wife Christie of Cleveland, Karen Vest Gateley of Cleveland, Susanne Stormer and husband Greg Lusk of Knoxville, and Michael Davis and wife Amanda of Nashville; seven great-grandchildren: Emily Marr, Scott Vest, Hunter Vest, Evan Gateley, Jaxson Gateley, Dylan Stormer and Blessing Davis; one sister, Eva Jean Walker of Houston, TX; and numerous friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Reverend Andy Ferguson and Reverend Debbie Stokes officiating. Interment will follow in Chilcutt Cemetery concluding with a White Dove Release Ceremony.
Her family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
Her family requests that memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
