Mildred Pauline Dodd

Mildred Pauline Dodd, 78, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, October 08, 2008 in a local healthcare facility. She was of the Church of God faith and raised in the Church of God Children's Home. She was employed with J.H. Kellman Company for many years. She enjoyed shopping at Cooke's Food Store every Saturday and had been doing so since the 1960's. She was a wonderful mother and friend to many and will be sadly missed.
She was born in Dunlap and was the daughter of the late Gilford and Bertha Tippens. Other that her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Harvey Dodd, Jr.; brothers: Ralph, Richard "Dick", and F. H. Tippens.
She is survived by two children: son, Steve Dodd and wife Ryna of Athens, daughter, Sandy Green and husband, Michael of Old Fort; 2 grandchildren, Brittany Brady and husband, Jason of Spring City and Tyler Green of Old Fort; sister Delores Blessing of St. Paul, MN; special relative, Edith Neely; several nieces, a sister-in-law and others.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Jay McCluskey officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Springs Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
