J. M. Creasman, age 86, a lifelong resident of Calhoun went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 24, 2006 at his home. He was a member of Hiwassee Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was a former teacher of the Adult Sunday School class. Mr. Creasman retired from Bowater after 31 years of service. He was a well known farmer in the Calhoun area. He was preceded in death by his parents, Neal Creasman and Annie Shamblin Creasman and brother Harold Creasman.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lucille Thomas Creasman of Calhoun, son, Ronnie Creasman and wife Nancy of Raleigh, NC; daughter, Nancy Liner and husband, Michael Liner of Calhoun; grandchildren: Barry Creasman of Atlanta, GA, Allison and Bob Marsh of Raleigh, NC, Randy and Amanda Liner of Calhoun, TN and Justin and Nicole Liner of Smyrna, TN; three great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Violet Creasman of Calhoun; brother-in-law, Leonard Thomas of Calhoun and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Hiwassee Baptist Church with Reverend Bill Sneed officiating. Interment will follow in Hambright Cemetery with Barry Creasman, Randy Liner, Justin Liner, Leonard Thomas, Eddie Smith and Kent Smith serving as pallbearers. The service will conclude with the release of a flock of white doves.
