Mildred Neal Brown

Mildred Neal Brown, 79, a long time resident of Bradley County passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at her home.

Mrs. Brown and her husband owned and operated Meadow Lane Farm in the Red Hill Valley Road Community for over 40 years. They also owned and operated Cherokee Antique Auction, Yesteryears Antiques and Video Plus for several years. She was a well-known real estate broker and appraiser. In her later years, she enjoyed traveling with her daughter, shopping and dining out with friends and family get -togethers where she could spend time with her great-grandchildren. She also loved to write and had just recently been published in an antique magazine.

She was the daughter of the late William Pierce Neal, Sr. and Mary Dunwoody Neal. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Aubrey Lee Brown; brothers: William P. Neal, Jr. and David Neal and sister, Dorothy Hanson.

She is survived by her daughter and caregiver, Sherri Brown Cooke and husband, Martin; her son, Michael Lee Brown and wife, Vicki; granddaughters: Kimberly Cooke Edgemon and husband, Brian, Katie Cooke Brewer and husband, Jimmy, Amy Brown Reece and husband, Brad; grandson: Tyler Brown and Steven Cooke all of Cleveland. Her pride and joy, her great-grandchildren: Dylan Brewer, Chelsea Brewer and Jessica Edgemon all of Cleveland; sisters: Mary Alice Shepard of Dallas, TX, Martha Keown of Rossville, GA and Quida Aiken of LaFayette, GA; brother, Roger P. Neal of LaFayette, GA; special friends, Frances Craighead and Lee Davis and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 2, 2008 in Chattanooga National Cemetery with the Reverend Roland Vaughan officiating. The funeral procession will leave at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday from the funeral home.

Her family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday, December 1, 2008 at the funeral home.
