John H. Brock, age 83, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, November 3, 2006 in a local hospital. He had lived in Bradley County his entire life and was of the Church of God faith. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and a charter member the V.F.W. Before his retirement, he was employed as a millwright with ICI of America. He enjoyed working outdoors in his yard and going fishing. He was the son of the late Elbert and Della Trotter Brock and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lynda Faye Miller and one brother, Melton Brock.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ann Brock of Cleveland; one son, Danny Brock of Cleveland; one daughter, DeeAnn Leamon of Cleveland; two foster children: Diane Strickland of Cleveland, and Donnie Smiley of Cherokee, NC; eight grandchildren: Chuckie Miller, Tracy Stewart, Monequa Arrowood, Candi Smith, Jill Miller, T.J. Smith, Lynette Miller and Whitney Brock; several great grandchildren; one sister, Patsy Jackson of Chattanooga; very special friend, Charleen Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Reverend Freddie Crumley and Reverend Guinn Green officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery with Blake Cantrell, Justin Cartwright, Buddy Smith, Dakota Leamon, Howard Thompson and Jimmy Womac serving as pallbearers.
His family will receive friends from 5 - 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
