Neva Bishop, 89, a resident of Benton passed away at her home, Monday February 18, 2008. Mrs. Bishop was a longtime resident of the Benton Station area.
She was a member of the Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Charleston High School and the Chattanooga School of Business. Mrs. Bishop was a volunteer Gray Lady for Bradley Memorial Hospital and for the Red Cross.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Washington Hunt and Texaner Callahen Hunt; and husband, Howard Bishop.
She is survived by daughters; Jane O'Neal of Chatsworth, Ga., Brenda Hysinger and husband Charles of Cleveland, Sharon Davis and husband Rob of Athens; son, Gary Bishop and wife Tennie of Benton Station; grandchildren, Diane Tyner of Chatsworth, Ga., Patricia Bland and husband John of Charleston, S.C., Jill Hysinger and Jay Hysinger, Robert Davis IV and wife Jillian of Cleveland, Jenny Dover and husband Dallas of Knoxville, Kristen Houser and husband Corey, Brandon Bishop of Benton Station; great grandchildren, Jacob and Abby Houser of Benton Station, Andrew Dover, Zachary Dover of Knoxville, Asa DavisV of Cleveland, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at 1 p.m. in the cemetery of the Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry Herron officiating. Jay Hysinger, Dallas Dover, Brandon Bishop, Corey Houser, Robert Davis IV and Jerry Hunt will be serving as pallbearers. Services will be concluded with a white dove release ceremony.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Fike Funeral Home
