Lillian Coleene Bennett

August 28, 1932 — May 27, 2007

Lillian Coleene Bennett, 74, of Cleveland, passed away Sunday May 27, 2007 in a healthcare facility after suffering a recent stroke. She was a charter member of Waterville Baptist Church. Coleene was a beloved helper to so many of her extended family and doted' on every one of her 33 nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and great nephews. Her amazing memory allowed her to recall in an instant the birthday, name and family of each relative. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Clara Renner Bennett.

She is survived by brothers: Swanson Bennett and wife, Nina of McMinnville, Judge Andrew Franklin Bennett, Jr. and wife, Nancy, Olin Bennett and wife, Nadine all of Cleveland, Raymond Bennett and wife, Bettye of Lenoir City; sisters: Geraldine Dement and husband, Joe of Lascassas, Maurine Dement and husband, John of Normandy, Billie L. Davis-Wooten and husband, Wiley, Bernice Boring and husband, Wilburn, LaVerne Easterly and husband, Jack, Laura Bennett, Katherine Gibson and husband, Steve all of Cleveland and Brenda Medlin and husband, Ron of Nashville.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Reverend Samuel D. Melton and nephew, Reverend Stan Gibson officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with her nephews serving as pallbearers. Her brothers-in-law and uncles will serve as honorary pallbearers. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony.

Her family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service.

Her family expresses their gratitude for the Monday visits from the devoted singing' cousins, Melba Bennett Saffles, Patsy Bennett Williams and Lynn Bennett Dykes and to the Life Care Center staff for their care of Lillian Coleene.

The family requests that memorials be made to Waterville Baptist Church, 3722 Dalton Pike, SE, Cleveland, TN 37323, or to your favorite charity.
