Anthony R. Knight

Anthony R. Knight, 58, of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021 in a local hospital.  He was a 1982 graduate of Cleveland High School.  Anthony enjoyed going to high school football games, flea markets and Pigeon Forge, especially the Comedy Barn.  He also loved watching NASCAR and was a former volunteer with the rescue service.  Anthony was a member of Michigan Avenue Baptist Church. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Sheridan Knight; maternal grandparents, John E. and Elvie Teems Brown; and paternal grandparents, William T. and Doris Cowden Knight.

Survivors include his mother, Opal Brown Knight of Cleveland; sisters, Karen Thomas (Michael) of Spartanburg, SC and Sharon Varnell (Mike) of Cleveland;  a niece and two nephews, Ryan Ogle of Cleveland, Dr. Ashley Thomas Williams (Fred) of Spartanburg, SC and Matthew Thomas (Caroline) of Huntersville, NC.; a great niece and nephew, Holsten and Aven Williams; and girlfriend, Melissa Burrell.

The funeral will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2021 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Jackie Carden officiating. Interment will follow in Ramsey Cemetery with Ryan Ogle, Matthew Thomas, Fred Williams, Michael Thomas, Mike Varnell and Dean Ownby serving as pallbearers.

His family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.
