Barbara "Jean" Baines Owens

Barbara “Jean” Owens, 87, of Cleveland, TN passed away Friday October 7, 2022.

She was a lifelong follower of Christ and spent most of her years as a member of Big Springs Methodist Church of Cleveland, TN.

Jean was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Alvin J. L. Owens; parents, Jethro and Mary Baines; two sisters, Joyce Hollingsworth, Sharon Winningham; three brothers, Kenneth, Jerry, and Lynnerd Baines. Surviving siblings are Larry Baines and Connie McKennon.

She is also survived by her children; daughter, Jan (Ed) Coffey; sons, Mike (Susan) Owens, David (Monica) Owens, Tyler (Maia) Owens; eight grandchildren, Adam Coffey, JoAnna Coffey ( Patrick Borunda), Kinzie (Tyler) Behel, Alex, Rachel, Nikki, Ronan, and Judah Owens; two great granddaughters, Maya Coffey Spiva, Aine Coffey, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Jean was most known for her deep love and faith in Jesus Christ. She wrote many poems and worship songs, which she performed as well. She loved leading Bible studies in her home and was always excited to talk about Jesus. Jean loved her family well and was deeply loved by them. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 2PM on Friday, October 14, 2022 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Justice officiating. Interment will follow at 3 PM in Sunset Memorial Gardens of Cleveland, TN. 

The family will receive friends on Friday 11-2 PM at the funeral home.
