Bessie Willene Haulk Duckworth, 78, a resident of Cleveland passed away April 30, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was a member of Waterville Baptist Church. She retired from Bradley/Cleveland Services Agency where she was the Director at the Charleston Senior Center. She and her husband, Carl, owned and operated Trips Unlimited and enjoyed many years of traveling, visiting all 50 U.S. States, Canada and Mexico. She was lovingly known by family and friends as “Mim” and “Sissy”. She was married to the love of her life for 63 years. She wonderfully served alongside her husband as a Pastors wife and was the epitome of a true Proverbs 31 woman. She was a great seamstress and many benefited from her exceptional talent. She enjoyed her beautiful flower gardens and was an outstanding cook.
She was preceded in death by her parents Riley Benson Haulk and Callie Lucille Lemons Haulk; siblings, Artie Dixon, Ida Lewis, Lona King, Eva Nipper, Lillian Haulk, Ruth Harbison, Ethel Haulk, Riley Benson (R.B. ) Haulk, Jr., Jean Ratcliffe and Charles Luther (C.L.) Haulk.
Survivors include her husband Carl Duckworth; daughter Carla Ownby and husband Charles of Cleveland; grandchildren, Heather Perry and husband Tony; Courtney Guinn and husband Paul; great grandchildren, Carly and Cole Smith, Noah and Mila Guinn all of Cleveland, brother, Ray Haulk and wife Linda of Cleveland; many nieces and nephews who were like her own children.
The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice of Cleveland for their wonderful service and care.
The funeral will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday , May 3, 2020 at Fike-Randolph and Son Funeral Home with nephew Carl Haulk officiating seating will be appropriate considering our current healthcare environment.
Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, we are making our services available for you to view on Fike-Randolph and Son Funeral Home’s Facebook page during the service time and at a later time.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with Tony Perry, Paul Guinn, Larry Cavett, Jonathan Cavett, Gary Ratcliffe and Mark Ratcliffe serving as Pallbearers with Cole Smith and Noah Guinn as Honorary Pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service.
