Charlie Randolph, 94 of Cleveland, departed for glory on Tuesday, September 8, 2020. He was born in Lafollette, TN on December 23, 1925 to the late Jim and Mattie Wallace Randolph. Charlie was a member of Mount Olive Ministries and helped build several churches throughout his life.
He worked at Union Carbide in Oak Ridge for 28 years as a cook. Charlie fed the people who made the atomic bomb and was commended for his contribution to the successful conclusion of World War II. He was very patriotic. Charlie fed and cared for many people in his lifetime and will always be honored fondly and lovingly by his family as the best father and Pappaw.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years, Melba Baker Randolph; brothers, Edgar, Roscoe, Albert, J.T. and Jimmy Randolph; sisters, Edith Caper and Wanda Randolph; grandson, Doug Ramey; and two great grandsons, Alex and Blake Ramey.
Survivors include his two sisters, Pearl Smith and Margie White; four children, Peggy Ramey, Jeannetta (Roy) Farmer, Deborah Randolph and Mickey (Louise) Randolph; 7 grandchildren, Robin Ramey (Phil) Dotson, Rodney (Sherry) Ramey, Kina (Dell Knowles) Ferguson, Darla Ramey, Christy Pass (Michael) Baker, Shay Eslinger and Amber Eslinger; 16 great grandchildren; a whole host of great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Mount Olive Cemetery with Pastor Gary Sears officiating. Rodney Ramey, Austin Eslinger, Skyler Sluder, Michael Baker, Adam McLemore, Dustin Sharp, Jadin Hudson and Caleb Baker will serve as pallbearers.
