Edward Sheridan Knight, 77, of Cleveland passed away Monday, March 8, 2021 in a local hospital. He had lived in Cleveland all of his life and was a member of Michigan Avenue Baptist Church. Mr. Knight was employed with Brown Stove works for 38 years. He loved antique cars and restoring older cars. His hobbies included watching football, NASCAR, collecting clocks and going to flea markets. His favorite place to go on vacation was Jekyll Island.
He was preceded in death by his parents William T. and Doris Maye Cowden Knight and brother, Ronald Knight.
Survivors include his wife, Opal M. Knight of Cleveland; son, Anthony R. Knight; daughters, Karen Thomas (Michael) of Spartanburg, SC and Sharon Varnell (Mike) of Cleveland; three grandchildren, Ryan Ogle of Cleveland, Dr. Ashley Thomas Williams (Fred) of Spartanburg, SC, Matthew Thomas (Caroline) of Huntersville, NC.; two great grandchildren, Holsten and Aven Williams; and several nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2021 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with the Reverend Larry Humbard officiating. Interment will follow in Ramsey Cemetery with Ryan Ogle, Matthew Thomas, Fred Williams, Michael Thomas, Mike Varnell, and Kevin Knight serving as pallbearers.
His family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Friday March 12, 2021 at the funeral home prior to the service.
